Leiluna'Inana and Her Search for a Bond
It seemed a convenient excuse to return home when news trickled in of a mass frenzy... Leiluna' wasn't naturally the kind to think of, let alone partake in flights, but it was a reason to return home. She had thought on the idea of flying--mating and having a clutch to brood over--and while initially the idea of it repulsed her, she quickly came to realize that, it being a frenzy and there being many other dragonesses present, she wouldn't be the only clutching mother at the time, and thusly, she very likely could find a quiet corner or side-space on the sands (the sands that she had hatched from, years ago?) from which she could quietly continue her search for a bond. It wasn't her most brilliant plan... but her biological clock was ticking, in more ways then one!
Finally she approached Dracothrope for permission to leave--but the humanoid wasn't about! It was actually Oanaa'viayn, a hippogryph of fae-heritage and mischievous temperament who met the Lesser Kynnese dragoness on the steps of their sprawling verandah. ~Mmmm hello there Leila-luna-lina-loo!~ the hippogryph fuzzed, perking her feathery crest and buzzing her iridescent wings. Unlike many a fae-type, this purple wonder loved the heat and daylight, so she was most often found out on the wrap-around porch, soaking up the mid-day heat.
Leiluna', by her very nature, was unable to reply with words, so she simply nodded. She really didn't need to speak, however, since the hippogryph was a pro with telepathy, and what's more, she had been and always would be a mind snoop.
~Thinkin' thinkin' of takin' a flight, huh? She was asking, her mind-voice high and shrill. ~Hoo my, hoo dear, but maybe a bond is more up your alley! Yessum, well but you've been wanting one for a while nooo?~
Leiluna' simply stood where she was, half in and half out of the door. She was more then twice the size of the hippogryph, but at the same time she always felt nervous under the creature's intense gaze. The Lesser Kynnese didn't like being the center of attention, and being singled out like this was vaguely unsettling, even if Oanaa' had no intention of being rude to her. Rather, instead of dragging this all out--since the hippogryph no doubt had nothing better to do, she sent the creature a mental image: Two forms, one more then twice the size of the other, emerging under a grey-swept sky, over the snow-blanketed Sanctuary. It's a difficult thought to convey, but with Oanaa's mind-snopping skills, the hippogryph quickly latches on to the idea.
Buzzing her little wings again, the purple creature gets to her feet. ~Oh, you want a lift, hmmmm? Well you did come to the right place, dearie-wearie: I'm a teleportation champion and have been since before I was out of my cocoon and will be until the day I fade into the great blue yonder and if you wanna go anywhere then you can count on me you surely can!~ It was a good thing she spoke telepathically. Anyone else would have died of asphyxiation! But she was continuing on again, ~Now you wanna go home do you, feeling homesick a little maybe just kinda? Not me nope, I like it here just fine since back home for me is kinda not around no more nope I don't think it is even though I haven't checked! Ohhhh well. Alright, okay, where's home now loony-leila?~
It wasn't long after that that the pair were taking to the heavy, hot equatorial sky, and certainly not long after that before they were circling an air-kettle. Oanaa' maneuvered herself over the Lesser Kynnese dragoness, and before Leiluna' knew it, the hippogryph had latched on to her back and WHOOSH, they flicked into the vacuum of nothingness, the interspace for all teleportation leaps anywhere.
And then they were out of it, Leiluna' unsettled beyond anything she'd ever felt in her life, save for the teleportation to the Ranch she'd experienced shortly after hatching!
Home was nothing like she remembered it--but maybe that was because she really didn't have much of a memory... whatever the case, she felt something. Something was calling to her, here.
~Mind if I come 'long for a while blue-blue?~ Oanaa' asked, taking in the snowy landscape, shivering briefly but otherwise seeming unaffected by it.
Leiluna didn't mind, considering that now, in the land of her birth, she felt more alone then she had before... but soon, hopefully, that would change! Firstly, however, she had to find out how to join in on the upcoming frenzy...
