Draconic Designs
Cyborware Installation FacilityAnyone can have cyborware installed for a price, be they dragons or humanoids, though if they don't receive their 'ware from a licensed installer, they risk irreparable bodily damage. Most dragons have their cyborware installed once they reach adult-hood. In some cases, it's possible to manipulate 'ware onto or into a maturing fetus, though this can be risky.
The facility to which SCD-born dragons can go to trade their gift tokens is called Draconic Designs. The facility specializes in dragon-sized 'ware, and is on pension from the city for their services, so when you go in, you don't need to pay a thing but your token! Walking into the facility is rather like walking into a hospital crossed with a mechanic's depot, with a little bit of tattoo parlour for ambience.
Some people like to include bits of story about their dragon getting their 'ware installed, and if you are so inclined as to do the same, you can click the links below to read about the folks you might meet in the facility.

Tattoos | ![]() Minor: Ink enough for 1-2 small tattoos (shoulder, face, forearm, etc). Moderate: Ink enough for 1-2 limbs, or 3-5 small (Minor-class) tattoos. (Head and neck count as one 'limb', the torso counts as another, as does the tail.) Major: Ink enough for the whole body (installer can use as little or as much ink as you want). Please have respect for Phoenix's sanity when requesting complex designs. Also, unless you're requesting something very simple/easy to describe, it's appreciated if you include a reference picture of the tattoo you want. |
Jewellery and Other 'Wareless Decorations | ![]() Generally, a Minor token can get you 1-4 of the above items. You can request mix-and-match decorations and suggest your own ideas, too-- Phoenix will let you know if you're requesting too much for your token. |

Tail Modifications | For those who have tails already, modifications come in everything from NuCheveux-style ridges of fur, to fins, to spiney elongations, as well as a number of other options. Tail Modification packages are variable-- half a tails-length to full tails-length packages are available. |

Cybornetic Eyes | Have failing eye-sight? Or do you just want a new shade of iris? Eye-replacements and modifications come in all varieties. From the more common, dilating pupiled eye, to the draconic, opaline eye, if you want it, it can be installed. Eyes come in packages of two. |
Cybornetic Limbs | Standard: The basic, utilitarian model, these limb-replacements are all metal and plastic, usually tempered to meet every-day stresses. They function as well as a regular limb, though they aren't too pretty to look at. Synthetic: A level up from the standard model, these are covered with synthetic skin, hair, and/or hide to match that of the owner. The limb functions as well as a natural one, and can only be told apart with a good deal of inspection. Cosmetic: Want a leg growing out of your back, or perhaps a pair of novelty wings? Cosmetic limbs are usually there only because 'they look cool', though some people have installed extra pairs of arms, etc. for work purposes. Generally, this kind of limb is very fancy, what with glowing hairs, silver-gilt muscles, floating nik-naks, and/or many other trinkets and add-ons. A cosmetic limb will function like a regular limb, given the right connections. Upgrades: Upgrades in all models are available, increasing speed, efficiency, and the general fanciness of a limb. Add-ons, such as expandable metallic claws to the ends of fingertips (for example), are available as well. Important Note: These mods are for story/candidate purposes only, unless you are requesting a REPLACEMENT limb. Drawing a whole new limb to a finished image is too much work for Phoenix, so you can get advanced limb-ware in-story, but cannot actually get an image update for it. Sorry. (In-story mods do not cost you your token.) If you are requesting a replacement limb, you can replace one of the dragon's already-existing legs with a cybornetic version, a la Vetheth or Florid Chorus. |
Cybornetic Tails | Not necessarily a new 'limb', a tail none the less is a major extension of the spine. Tails come in all shapes, sizes, colours and teguments; some are prehensile, while others are simply for decorative purposes. Tails are sold singly. |
Hoverpacks | External or Internal, hoverpacks are exactly for the purpose their name implies. They allow their owners to float anywhere from a few centimeters to a few feet above the ground. Most commonly used in freight-shippers and other vehicles, smaller, more convenient hoverpacks have been created over the years for personal use. Hoverpacks are sold either singly or in pairs. |
Memory Chips | Small, cybernetic chips can be inserted in the brain, allowing a person more space for coherent memories. Memory chips are sold seperately, and can store up to half a petabyte. |
NuPeau | Very much like NuCheveux, grafted NuPeau covers its owner in a coat of fur. It has just as diverse a range of colours and lengths, ranging from the typical short pelt, to the exotic, from plain colours to light-emitting optic-wires. NuPeau comes in bolts of several metres each-- much like bolts of fabric. Important Note: This mod is for story/candidate purposes only. Covering a finished image in fur is too much work for Phoenix, so you can give a dragon such a coat in-story, but cannot actually get an image update for it. Sorry. (In-story mods do not cost you your token.) |
Telaparts | Relatively 'new' to the cyborware scheme of things, a Telapart functions as a kind of mind-to-mind communication instrument, mimicking the dragon-humanoid specific telepathy of a bonding. It allows direct thoughts from one person be recieved by another. Both people must have Telaparts to send and recieve directed thoughts, though a person with a Telapart may recieve 'fuzzy' thoughts from a bonded dragon or other strong telepath. |
