Rules/FAQ

General
1. Can cyborware tokens be 'pooled' from a group of dragons that received them upon adulthood? That is, if a story or some sort of 'logical' collection would take place?
Yes, within reason. Phoenix has indeed allowed tokens to be pooled this way in the past, but only with singular hand-overs between clutchmates or dragons bonded to characters that share a story. If the reason for the handover is logical (i.e. she doesn't want to see total strangers trading tokens after a single meeting) she's pretty lenient about allowing token-trades. However, dragons may only receive one extra token in this way. Also, tokens cannot be traded between writers-- only between dragons owned by the same person.

2. Is it possible to earn cyborware through nifty stories about the dragons and riders, or from drawing fanart for them or something? Or even writing flights/hatchings/doing favors for the SCD folks?
Currently, no. We pondered storiness once, but decided we didn't want to have to judge people, and we don't like making winners and losers. And with favours, that's not really equal-opportunity, like the Hunt is. There we'd be flooded with people asking for things to do, and again we'd have to pick and choose.

Regarding the Token-Hunt
1. Can I use a hidden token on a xenodragon/part-xenodragon?
Yes, but only for 'Wareless mods and clip-on piercings. Their acid blood prevents any invasive procedures. (Yes, all other Cyborware mods require surgery or draw blood to some extent.) "Wareless Decorations" is the second entry in the Variable Installments chart on the Cyborware page.

2. Can I use a hidden token on a gift/Birthday Bash/exchange/otherwise non-clutch SCD dragon?
No. The tokens are only for clutch-born SCD dragons.

3. Can I use a hidden token on a Fur and Feathers Frenzy dragon?
No. The FFF is considered part of the planet Atu, not Star City Station, and so its dragons are not valid for tokens.

4. Is there a time limit on turning in tokens?
Technically, no. Nevertheless, you may find a token to be no longer valid by the time you email Phoenix. You have been warned!

5. Can I save a token if I don't know what to spend it on yet?
Yes. You can send Phoenix a mail telling her which tokens you have found and "bank" them. She keeps records of who has found what tokens, and you can bank any number of tokens for as long as you want.

6. Can I use a token on a cyborbot?
No. Despite being called cyborbots, the bots are not at all related to cyborware and are not compatible with cyborware's biological elements. To quote the Cyborbot page: The name 'cyborbot' is actually misleading, as the 'bots are purely robotic, and do not have any organic cybernetics to them at all. The name, however, makes them familiar to the cyborware-saturated city, and so it has stuck.

7. Can I use a token on a dragon that already has cyborware?
Yes. There is no limit as to how many tokens a dragon can have used on them. They can also come in for multiple sessions and don't need to save up for one massive session. You can send them in once for lumi-wire, and send them in again for lumi-pads if you decide you want those added later, for example.

I found a token, but now you say it's not valid! No fair!
Sorry? There's nothing to be done about that.
